By registering for and participating in the Blakity Black Book Salon, you agree to the following terms:

The Facilitator Faheemah Salahud-Din Floyd is doing business as Griot Bae and will be referred to as Griot Bae or the Facilitator for these Terms & Conditions.Ā

1. Nature of the Experience

The Blackity Black Book Salon is a facilitated, community-based reading experience that includes:

  • A 31-day guided reading schedule
  • Group chat on Telegram Messenger for intimate participationĀ 
  • A live Zoom closing session

2. Eligibility

This Salon is an Afrocentric space. By joining, you acknowledge and agree to respect the cultural and spiritual boundaries outlined in the Community Agreements.

Failure to respect these boundaries will result in removal from the space without refund.

3. Required Materials

Participants are responsible for obtaining their own copy of the selected book.

  • The book is not included in the cost of the Salon and must be purchased or accessed separately
  • Participants are expected to obtain the book before May 1st in order to stay aligned with the reading schedule
  • Acceptable formats include physical copies, ebooks, audiobooks, or library access

4. Payment and Refund Policy

  • All payments are final and non-refundable
  • Your purchase secures your access to the Salon and its materials
  • No partial refunds will be issued for missed days, lack of participation, or inability to attend the Zoom session

5. Participation and Conduct

By joining, you agree to:

  • Follow all Community Agreements
  • Engage respectfully with others in the space
  • Not disrupt, harm, or diminish the experience for others

Griot Bae reserves the right to remove any participant who violates these agreements. Removal will occur without refund.

6. Intellectual Property

All materials, teachings, prompts, and content shared within this Salon are the intellectual property of the Griot Bae unless otherwise stated.

You may not:

  • Reproduce, distribute, or sell any materials
  • Teach or repurpose content from this Salon as your own
  • Record, screenshot, or share content from the group without permission

Proper credit must be given if referencing ideas or teachings.

7. Confidentiality and Privacy

This is a shared community space built on trust.

You agree to:

  • Respect the privacy of all participants
  • Not share personal stories, messages, or identities outside of the space without consent

8. Technology and Access

Participants are responsible for:

  • Having access to the required technology ( internet, Zoom, Telegram Messenger)
  • Joining discussions and sessions using their own devices with the login information provided.

Griot Bae is not responsible for technical issues on the participantā€™s end.

9. Zoom Session

The live Zoom session is part of the experience, but:

  • Attendance is not required
  • A recording will not be provided for those who miss

10. Modifications

Griot Bae reserves the right to:

  • Adjust the schedule if necessary
  • Modify aspects of the experience to better serve the group

Any significant changes will be communicated in advance.

11. Agreement to Terms

By submitting payment and joining the Blackity Black Book Salon, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions and the Community Agreements.
